Project Dignity is a South African NPO, based in Kwa-Zulu Natal, operating country wide.

We raise funds in order to go out to the rural and impoverished schools, where we deliver an interactive educational to school girls surrounding puberty, feminie hygiene, HIV/Aids and teen pregnancy.

We discovered that many girls simply did not attand school while menstruating as they just do not have access to any sanitaryware, this resulting in a lack of self confidence and resultinging up to 25% absenteeism!

We aim to empower these young woman by addressing the educaitonal and supplying the girls with an eco-friendly, reusable/washable sanitary solution. The Subz 2 pack consists of 2 panties plus 6 pads, this pack will last each girl for 36 months.

We have been operating for 9 years and todate we have managed to supply 160 000 girls with sanitary packs.

We have a very long list of schools on a wait list who have requested assistance for their young girls so the process is very much ongoing. However that being said we aim to provide packs to 1500 girls per month. The requested $4000 target would allow us to reach 288 girls.

Spare a thought, when we ask the girls how they have managed their menstuation needs prior to receiving the packs, the answers were - tissue/toilet paper, newspaper, rags/cloths and in some instances even particular plant leaves. Many of these "solutions" lead to secondary fungal infections that mostly remain untreated due to lack of education surrounding feminie health/hygiene.

Assisting the girls with a sanitary solution impacts their lives in such a way meaning ful way that they are empowered to become confident young women.
