The Story of the Cup
- A Medical Student Initiative to Malawi
We are four medical students from Stellenbosch University. We are planning a health a health promotion project to Malawi called
28fourchange where we would like to provide menstrual cups to young ladies in need.
Many girls cannot afford tampons and pads for their period every month and instead often resort to using rags and newspaper as
alternatives. Not only is this a risk for infection but it can cause them to have a lot of shame in their lives. Many girls skip school
days each month as a result.
We believe that donating menstrual cups will offer a more permanent solution to this problem.
As students, we require funding for the donation of these cups and educational materials for the girls we will work with. If you
have a heart for this cause and would like to support our project financially, any donation will be invaluable and go a long way in
changing a young girls' life.
