It is impossible not to think of how fortunate we are as a society knowing there are people in other countries living on less than $1 a day with no assistance. There are Mothers who fight tirelessly to give their daughters a better, safer life from the unspeakable horrors that they faced in their own lives. Do you share posts like this and videos on social media, and wish you could do something more REAL, more powerful, but you don't know where to start?

I felt that way too, all the time.

I have a unique opportunity to work in a remote part of Africa to help a tribe's women build confidence, become self-sufficient both emotionally and financially, to help ensure their children have the opportunity to receive an education. Through the introduction of raw materials, humanitarian aid money and education I will be helping these females reduce their chance of being forced into a life where they have no choices.

So in March of 2021 I will be headed to Rural Kenya to volunteer along with some very strong and

What will we be doing to help?

  • Help teenage and adult women to start their own businesses to produce profit for their families.
  • Teaching these women English and Math so they do not have to rely on others to speak for them.
  • Help these women build roadside stalls to sell their goods at.
  • We will be educating them on female hygiene
  • Purchasing supplies to start up businesses

I can not express how long I have waited for an opportunity like this.

Please help me to empower the lives of these Tribal Women.

I will travel as cheap as possible. Obviously there are still expenses, I will be responsible for my flight and food while I am there, through the generous people in the village have offered some meals I would like to be able to purchase food to repay them since they have so little. I am saving every dime I can spare but any additional money will help.

This is where YOU come in.

I'm looking for $2200 to make this trip happen. A large majority of this is going to be my round trip flight and travel insurance. On top of that I will need some money for the program fee to start up these businesses (Read More Below) and to get the locals for much needed supplies.

If we go over the expected total... AWESOME! I will use the funds to buy supplies from local Kenyan businesses and deliver the goods personally into the village.

You will be able to follow my entire trip on Instagram at:

If you have air miles you would like to gift toward the flight that can be arranged, please send a message on Instagram. .

What I am hoping to do on top of our general goals to jump start these women's economic lives is partner with a separate organization to introduce Microloans to this village.

What Is a Microloan or Micro-finance:

Micro-finance enables poor women to engage in income-generating activities that help them become financially independent, strengthening their decision-making power within the household and society.

Usually each woman in the group will provide a very small amount of saved income to put into a “pot” Each woman in the group will have the opportunity to cash out the pot when they have a prospect idea and then return the money with a small amount of interest in order to grow the amount. This essentially creates a bank of their own.

Example in USD:

10 women put 1 dollar into the ‘bank’

1 woman uses the money to buy a pregnant goat.

The goat has a kid and the woman sells the baby goat for 12 dollars and goat milk and cheese for 6 dollars

The woman returns 13 Dollars to the bank and keeps the 5 dollar profit.

Each time this happens the bank grows, which means the next project can afford to be bigger.
