Campaign Story
The Primrose Project (originally Primroses Wings) is a non-profit organisation that was set up by Rachael Chadwick in memory of her daughter Primrose, who was born asleep on March 14th 2015.
The Primrose Projects main aim is to provide as many bereaved families across the UK as possible with the support that they truly deserve after the loss of a baby. We provide this support by sending hospitals a range of different keepsakes to hand out to newly bereaved parents. These keepsakes help families to create everlasting memories with their babies that they wouldn't have had the chance to create otherwise. These include: Butterfly Comfort Boxes, Floral Remembrance Boxes, Certificates of Life and Forever Bed Gowns.
In 2015 we managed to raise just under £8000! With this money we provided Burnley General Hospital with one cuddle cot and a bespoke preemie-sized wooden crib. We also managed to send out 90 miscarriage keepsake boxes, 30 memory boxes, 5 sibling bereavement packs, 20 certificates of life and over 100 angel funeral gown packs.
Since donating the cuddle cot and memory packs in 2015, I have lost another two babies. I have not fundraised for a while but after experiencing the aftercare of a missed miscarriage I would like to raise more money towards more equipment and keepsakes.
In 2019 I would like to do even more in Primroses, Baby Shearns and Baby Novas names! My goal is to raise £10,000 over the next 12 months. I know that its a lot of money, but hopefully with your support we will be able to smash this target and help as many families as we possibly can! I’m also going to be holding various fundraisers throughout the year to help reach the target so I will keep updating the running total as we go along.
This amount of money will enable me to purchase another cuddle cot and bespoke wooden crib aswel as roughly 600 miscarriage keepsakes.
