Primary Bone Tumor of the Tibia – Athena Bayabay

Hello everyone, my name is Athena Bayabay, 31, November 30, 2020, I was diagnosed with a tumor called primary bone tumor of the tibia.

It started on the day of November 20, I experienced heavy pain in my lower left leg. The next day, a visible bump in my leg appears and the pain didn't stop. It got bigger and more painful everyday. I immediately consult a specialist and I was told to do duplex ultrasound of vein scheduled on Dec 09 and was given a painkiller for two days. Days passed and the pain is not tolerable anymore. I rushed myself to the ER and did some tests like Xray, MRI and MRI with contrast and blood chem. After the result came out, the doctor advised that I should be confined and do some tests for my surgery as soon as possible. The result tells that the tumor is 60% benign and 40% malignant. Since I am experiencing severe pain, it means that the tumor is rapidly growing/expanding. An encino biopsy is also needed to diagnose if it is benign or malignant. I was told also that I cannot walk or use my left leg because the tumor is eating the cortex of my bone and will cause it to break.

Luckily, I have very supportive family and friends that are willing to lend a hand.

We are very open to any help and options we can get from others. Right now our focus is to raise fund for my surgery. Any amount will do.
