Make Metro Manila Pride Happen

Pride month is here and once again, it is time to come together and Make Pride Happen. As we hold hands and #ResistTogether against the many issues that threaten not just LGBTQIA+ people but other marginalized peoples as well, it’s important that we remember: the Pride march is FOR the community, and BY the community.

With this, MMPRIDE has spent many hours learning, studying, and reworking our processes so that together, we can put the COMMUNITY at the center of our movement.

For this––we are launching a new Pride Fund system, through GoGetFunding, offering a better and easier opportunity for the community to take part in raising funds to Make Pride Happen.

This year, the total we need to mount the March and Festival is PHP990,050. But with the generous help of our previous and current partners, and the savings MMPRIDE has incurred through careful planning and budgeting, we only need PHP375,000 in order for the Pride March and Festival to happen on June 29, 2019!

This amount is based on the costs needed for the many moving parts of the march and festival: logistical requirements such as staging, set-ups, portalets, and the like; volunteer care such as honoraria and food; and finally, for security measures and programs, like our bouncers and aide.

A small token will be given to all who reach out and donate, but your presence at the march and festival, and lending your voice to our Human Rights advocacy is just as valuable!

WHAT TOKENS OR REWARDS DO I RECEIVE?

Individuals or groups may donate the following amounts through GoGetFunding, with the following exclusive We Made Pride Happen tokens:

PHP300 - Pin and Sticker Pack
PHP1,500 - Pin, Sticker Pack, and Tote Bag
PHP3,000 - Pin, Sticker Pack, Tote Bag, and Cap
PHP5,000 - Pin, Sticker Pack, Tote Bag, Cap, and Shirt.

HOW DO I CLAIM THE REWARDS?

Our tokens and rewards will be available for pickup during the Pride March and Festival at the Pride Fund booth. For donors who won’t be able to make it to the march on June 29, you may select the shipping option as you check out on your GoGetFunding donation. Please note that shipping of all Pride Fund rewards will only start in mid-July 2019.

WE WANT TO START A FUNDRAISER ACTIVITY! HOW CAN WE DO THAT?

We want the COMMUNITY to take a center-stage in our fundraising, so yes you can! Send us an email at [email protected] with a brief concept description (DATE, TIME, VENUE, ORGANIZATION, and other details) so that we can discuss.

Please note that at MMPride, we require that all activities must align with our values, the core of which is a commitment to human rights.

HOW DO I KNOW THE STATUS OF THE PRIDE FUND CAMPAIGN, AND IF WE’VE HIT OUR TARGETS?

GoGetFunding will have a live tracker of donations so you can join us we watch the donations come in! MMPride will also be releasing weekly updates on the status of the Pride Fund.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE THE FUNDING GOES?

Yes! Our weekly updates will briefly discuss which moving parts have been completely covered by you, our donors! MMPride also believes in transparency and accountability, so we release a publicly-accessible financial report after the march and festival, once all receivables have come in and our processes finalized.
