To prevent a family of 5 (Mother, Father and 3 young children) from being forced to return to Pakistan, where they are subject to religious persecution as practicing Jews.
After 5 years the Family managed to leave Pakistan on a 3-month tourist visa to an Arab country, friendly to Jews. This visa expires on December 21, 2021. [Visas, airfare and 2 months rent has been provided by donations from a few individuals.]
The parents have promises of jobs in another frendly country. They now need funds for new visas, airfare, work permits, rent and food for 3 months (allowing time to be self-sufficient) and winter clothes (Pakistan officials confiscated all of their winter clothes.).
Ultimately, the family wants to convert to Judaism and, with HaShem's Blessing, eventually make aliyah to Israel.
The family members are not halachicly Jewish. The mother's family originally came from India via Iran. They mostly coverted to Islam or Christianity. Her father had a traditon of Jewish practices, including prayers, dating back to his great grand mother. The mother of our family lived as a "Jewish child", learning many customs from her father and his Jewish friends.
In Pakistan, the Family practiced Judaism, including celebrating Shabbat and all Jewish festivals. The children have been raised Jewish (see pictures). Since 2013 they have been studying Judaism online with Chabad and other rabbis. For the past 5 years, our family has sent them matza and other kosher for Pesach foods. To do this all food had to been removed from original packages and repackaged in American candy boxes and other non-Jewish labels.
The Family has been subject to religious persecution in Pakistan. The children were often punished by teachers for no reason and forced to read the Quran. The family dog was poisoned. The young boys were hit by unknown automobiles, resulting in serious injuries, including broken bones and hospitalization.
