First off thank you for reading my post. I am a mommy to a preemie boy named Collin. I had a very difficult pregnancy that has kept me from working for a large portion of my pregnancy. I am a Respiratory Therapist and work 12 hour shifts and come home and care for my 3 yr old son. When I was 22 weeks I woke up in terrible pain and ended up in the ER. After finally agreeing to a CAT scan I found out my appendix was on the verge of rupturing. I was rushed to emergency surgery. The surgery was a success however they caught it just in time as the infection was beginning to leak. They didn't know how much had leaked and what effect it could have on the baby. After healing from surgery I went back to work. When I was 29 weeks pregnant I was at work in a patients room and began to bleed heavily. I was rushed to labor and delivery and waited to see if I was going into labor or if it would stop. Luckily the baby tolerated everything and stayed put. However they were unable to stop the bleeding and I was placed on bedrest. I managed to remain pregnant for 3 weeks and early in the morning I went into labor. Unfortunately we were still 2 months early. I had a c-section and Collin was taken to NICU. I left the hospital 3 days later, the week of Christmas without my baby boy. He remained in NICU for over a month. My 3 year old son was not allowed to visit. It is almost impossible to explain to a 3 yr old why they can't see their baby brother. The only way to get him released from the hospital was to agree that he go home on a monitor. I have had to stay with him 24/7 while on the monitor because my hubby wasn't comfortable if it alarmed. So as you can see I haven't been able to work for quite some time. We have completely emptied our savings to pay bills etc. now I find myself in a place where my baby needs a stroller and other basic necessities. All of my research says a bassinet stroller is the best for preemies. I have spent hours and hours trying to find inexpensive bassinet strollers with no luck at all. I have searched retail sites, stores, Craigslist etc. Unfortunately this type of stroller is expensive and our current situation has put it out of reach. I have reached the point of putting pride aside and asking for the help of others. My family thanks you!
