Preemie Baby Elijah\'s fight with ROP

I'm Christine Ara Lacerna-Hernandez, I humbly come to you to seek help for my four-month-old son, Elijah Lorenzo Hernandez who has ROP. His Retinopathy of Prematurity is a disorder that can steal his eyesight and make his future worse so he needs to undergo an eye surgery called vitrectomy to prevent blindness of his eyes. He was born prematurely on June 23 of this year and has been in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of our provincial hospital for over a month. Also, last July, two weeks after he was discharged from the NICU, he was re-admitted to the hospital because he had pneumonia. This is the third time he has had a medical need. We have never fully recovered from the expenses and debts due to his previous illness. It was difficult for us to approach those who already helped us. We have nowhere else to go. I am a job-order employee who is at a government branch in our province earning minimum wage and my husband is a skilled worker that repairs basic computer and cellphone problems, but we do not have the capacity to address our children's surgery and the medication that he will need after the operation. We ask for your help for the hope that our child will be able to see and have a good future. Any amount you can give is a great help and comfort. Our family is deeply grateful to you.
