My faithful and loving companion, Lily, is an eleven year old Mini Schnauzer and has been a member of the family since she was a wee pup. Lily is a very happy and playful dog. She loves everyone and believes everyone loves her. Unfortunately, Lily has developed several benign mammary tumours and desperately needs surgery to have them removed. The largest tumour is the size of an orange. The other two are the size of small eggs and still growing, slowly suffocating her internal organs. It is getting very difficult for Lily to digest her food and have bowel movements. She doesn’t realize her plight or just braves through it. Even with her difficulties, she remains the happy and playful dog.
This wonderful canine has helped me survive many difficulties in my life. I have a medical condition that causes seizures. The strange thing is that Lily always knows before an episode hits me and she stays faithfully by my side. I am so blessed to have her. And now it’s my turn to tend to her needs, and give her the same care and love that she's given me.
Lily has been to see the vet and has been checked from head to rump. The vet has assured me that, other than the tumours, Lily is in very good health and has the stamina to pull through the surgery and the painful recovery to follow. The cost of the surgery and after care is estimated at $6500. Lily, Ollie (Lily's best feline friend) and I live on a very modest income. If there are any kind souls who have the desire and means to help Lily, we three would be extremely grateful.
Thank you all who have taken the time to read this post.
