Hi! I am Ann, and I come from a family of 5 children. During my senior year in high school, I applied for the top 3 universities in my country (the Philippines), and I passed them all. The problem is, I couldn't afford to study in those universities. Aside from the fact that I have 4 other siblings, my father was recently fired off his job because of an abusive employer. His contract for his company in Saudi Arabia ended last March 2014, but the employer wouldn't let him come home to the Philippines, not even just for vacation, because he was apparently an asset to the company. My father then just continued working there because we also needed the income, but he agreed with his boss that he would come home to the Philippines come October 2014 because it would be my eldest brother's wedding, and my 3rd brother's Octoberian graduation, and his boss complied to the agreement. Come October, his boss took back his promise and further hindered my dad from coming home. He threatened my dad that if he forced to come home, he wouldn't have any job to return to there, and of course, my dad became scared for our family's income so he sacrificed coming home to us. When December came, my dad's mother back here in the Philippines unexpectedly passed away because of old age, and so my father, who has had enough of his boss' abusiveness, forced to come home to the Philippines to attend his mother's funeral, and that caused him to get fired. He's been looking for a job ever since he came home, but has only found one just now (April 2015). We've spent all our savings throughout January-March 2015 and have also made some debts to pay for house rent, electricity/water bills, everyday expenses, etc.; therefore it would be really hard for me to attend college at this situation. I am hoping that this fundraiser would help me so I could fund my studies in the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Political Science, as a pre-law course for my dream to become a lawyer someday. I would very much appreciate all donations, in any amount, and I would keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
