#PrayForBenilda: Please help in Benilda Gomez Mendoza’s Battle against Dermatomyositis

BENILDA GOMEZ-MENDOZA is a 68-year-old mother of 3 who has a rare disease of DERMATOMYOSITIS. The disease is diagnosed in 2-10 people per million each year. It is a type of inflammatory myopathy characterized by inflammatory and degenerative changes of the muscles and skin. It is an auto immune disease in where the body’s natural defenses against invading organisms suddenly begin to attack perfectly healthy tissue for unknown reasons, leading to inflammation or swelling. THERE'S NO CUR FOR THIS CONDITION, but symptoms can be managed.

She is now in CRITICAL CONDITION in the hospital for two weeks due to PNEUMONIA and is on mechanical ventilator and now in dialysis. She’s still awake and fighting.
