PRAYERS AND A PUSH – UKRAINE NEEDS YOU

Events in life are not mere coincidences... Months before all this craziness between Russia and Ukraine exploded, I was lucky enough to meet a young man from Ukraine. He was in the island (DR) for a conference and what he thought would be a couple of days later turned in 3 ½ months. He was lured by the warm heart of Dominicans, perfect “winter weather” and church life.

Anticipating conflict, he decided to go back to his family despite it was safer to stay in the country. In his words: How can I be at peace knowing my people are in danger? I can’t just seat here and wait for chaos to happen.

Right now, the whole country is convulsing (shelling, armed confrontation, injured people, deaths). For the people who stayed this means a living hell. Especially for those that were short on resources even before this event. Thankfully Toli’s (my Ukrainian friend) and his family are safe (yet) and helping others to be the same by supporting financially, buying food, locating places for people to stay, this has been done in a limited extend due their economical capacity and… as Unity makes strength, I would like to invite you to DONATE any amount in your possibility, to help people of UKRAINE have relief in terms of:

• Food
• Medicine
• Support to families (to re-locate and rent)
• Mattresses.
