Campaign Story
Through this effort, I along with team GHE (Global Himalayan Expedition), would like to put our efforts towards powering one of the world's remotest villages in Himalayas. At 16000 ft, the village is inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent and is steeped in millennia of history, religion and culture.
In the mission, the team will be installing solar microgrids, basic lightning system and light bulbs in the remote village, along with possible local servers and computers for the villagers to access the power of knowledge! For centuries, the villagers still rely on kerosene lamps, which are both inefficient and harmful to the people around the lamps and the environment.
Your contributions will be used in procuring and bringing these solar microgrids to the remote village. The team will trek for about 3 days from the nearest road, across valleys and some of the difficult mountain passes in the Himalayas.
Team GHE has completed 6 missions so far, and I am very happy to be part of the 7th mission. Through this fundraising, I would like to request your support in the cause!
See below attached some videos and documentaries of GHE covered in World Economic Forum of the past missions.
