Hello, I recently had a power surge from the transformer on my property about 3 weeks ago. The electric company is saying they are not responsible for a power surge because there is a clause in the contract with the state that makes them exempt. I have contacted  my local state offices in regards to this matter and have made formal complaints to the electric company. My insurance company is giving me the run around and saying that the electric company is at fault and they should be the one that replaces the appliances in my home, seriously I left the guy 6 voice mails before returning my call asking me if I have contacted the electric company. Obviously I do have home owners insurance and to keep my bills down, I have a redicioulsy high deductiable of $3,000 which I can not afford to pay at this time. I lost my refridgerator, dishwasher, dryer, washer, oven and two t.v's. The power surge melted the coax cable provided by the cable company, and blew out light bulbs and surge protectors! I have a family of 3 and with out the typical appliances used day to day it is becoming extremly difficult and expensive! I have had to do laundry at the local laudry mat. I have to either take everyone out to eat, , or pick up microwaveable food, which is not the healthiest. I am really in a difficult place here and with thanksgiving and christmas around the corner, I am starting to run up against a wall. If you can help any way, I will be extremly greatful. I really need to get my appliances fixed, so life can go back to normal.
