Teens who become pregnant or vulnerable to become pregnant
often come from families of low socio-economic status. Growing up, these
children often come from families who are suffering from poverty and do not
have all the necessary resources to raise their child. These children grow up
to have low educational goals and successes because of the lack of involvement
from their own parents. These young kids then predisposed to a negative
environment end up with less ambition to succeed in school and begin making
friendships with other teens who are going through similar situations as them.

We seek to unleash 100 girls and teenage mothers potential every year, while enhancing the economic freedom and capabilities of girls and young mothers, with a broad-based training program of activities designed to enable them to improve the quality of their lives, enhance their dignity as individuals and work their way out of poverty. We prepare & empower deprived girls and teen mothers for paid vocational careers in Beauty therapy through skills-based training & ongoing mentor-ship.
The creative industry is the fastest market driven demand and dominant sector in terms of youth employment in the region but this require more locally available skilled resources to meet demand and ensure growth. To do this, Poverty to jobs has since its founding managed to establish a beauty training center as resources center in line to achieve the goal of Self employment skills for vulnerable girls & young single mothers.
Your single donation of $150 will pay for one months beauty therapy course, one week of life skills and one week of small business management for one girl or teenage mother living in extreme poverty. After completion of the training program each girl or teenage mother will receive a package of tools to start her own business as mobile beauty service provider on streets to help her start generating income for herself and her child plus one year mentor-ship to help her manage her business profitably.
