My name is Oluwafisayo Aghenu, originally from Nigeria. I have been studying in South Africa for the past six years, graduate in 2016 (National Diploma:Financial Accounting) and currently in my final semester (Bachelors in Accounting Science).
My time at university has been the most enriching and life-changing experience I've ever had, living on my own for the first time, being exposed to the real world and building connections that will last me a lifetime. I was lucky enough to get financial help for my diploma studies from my family till 2016. Thereafter, it is has been my responsibility providing for myself.
I am an aspiring chartered accountant in South Africa and a postgraduate diploma is a criteria. As of now, I am faced with a very difficult financial situation and as an international student, there are limitations when applying for bursaries.
I am currently a trainee accountant at an accounting firm but it is not the chartered accountant route. My salary only covers my basic living expenses (rent, food, electricity, water and groceries). Also, i was able to pay for my degree tuition in installments.
For the Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) which is the post graduate diploma, i am to pay the tuition once off and i personally cannot afford based on my income.
I appreciate you taking the time to read about my situation and hope you can understand where I am coming from. Any little assistance is greatly and wholeheartedly appreciated!
