Portrait Photography Business Needs A Little Help

Who Am I, And What Kind of Business Am I Starting?

I'm a photographer in Silver Spring, MD, and I'm relaunching my portait photography business. This new business has three divisions. The first is a portrait site for grownups - headshots for actors, corporate portraits, etc. It's called FM Portraits of Silver Spring. The second is a child photography site called Bear Bear Photography (after my favorite teddy bear!). The third is a portrait business for musicians, called FameN4tune Photography. 

What Do I Need The Money For?

Like most new startups, I need a little help with my marketing, and I need help buying some electronics. My name is actually Fortune, but I don't have one lying around for marketing and the electronics I need. 

My marketing costs for the first year will be about $1,500. I'm planning to use sites like Thumbtack, and social media, like Facebook. I'm also searching for new sites, and innovative ways to use social media and online advertising. My other costs will involve designing postcards, business stationery, etc., on Vistaprint. They're the best place around for anything to do with business.

My other costs involve buying a new laptop (I'm using my guy's, and he's not too thrilled with my taking it over!!), a new phone with better features for business, and a new camera. I have a great camera, but I need a backup. I always need that! I've had cameras die in the middle of shoots, which is...never a good thing. So my needs are mainly advertising, and electronics. 

How Much Do I Need? 

I'm looking at about $2,500 of expenses. I want to use my skills and talents to provide photography services for people who really need them, and value them, and there's a very large market for that in the DC area. I really need help with this, and I would appreciate your support so much.
