Promotion and Distribution for Populist Music Double EP

My name is Dontay, and I am an organizer in the Atlanta area. On top of being an activist, I'm currently completing my Master's Degree in Political Science at Georgia State University. Creatively, I am a Political Poet who makes music with the specific aim of shifting mass consciousness and ideologically challenging oppressive systems. I use poetry to levy poignant political critiques and speak to the experiences of the most marginalized.

Music is a potent medium and a bedrock of culture. In order to politicize people on mass; we need to politicize culture. Using music as one arm of political culture will be instrumental in creating political community. Creating Political Community is the only way to ensure that humanity has a long and vibrant future.

I've created an album entitled "Populist Music" that will soon be ready for release. I want the record to reach as many people as possible, and for that, I will need funds for distribution(Physical Units, Streaming Services) as well as promotion(merchandise, social media activity, etc.) Typically, a Record Label would handle distribution and promotion via their substantial marketing budgets. As an independent artist, I do not have the luxury. As a student and organizer, I do not have the resources necessary to promote the album properly. Unfortunately, talent alone does not ensure that your music will reach the right people.
This album has the potential to open up conversations around some of humanity's most pressing issues, including Environmental Degradation, Gross Income and Wealth Inequality, The Rise of Tyrannical Rulers, and general hopelessness, isolation, and fear of the future felt by the youth of today. I believe in myself as an artist, so I know that people will appreciate the music, but more than that, I want this project to cultivate conversations around these systems of oppression. Now is the time. If we cannot find ways to affect mass consciousness, we will not have a future.

That being said, the album is already complete. I need community support to effectively distribute and promote the album and ensure it reaches as many people as possible.
