Hello everyone,

My name is kitty, am a three years old Ragdoll male cat. You can find me on instagram at @kittycat49721.

During the past week I have suffered from a Urinary Blockage. Which basically means that my Urethra — the tube that drains urine from the bladder to the penis and out of the body — is blocked by inflammatory material/small stones. Yet the Urine can NOT exit the body.

When visiting the Vet on the 5th of Jan22, Dr. Souad Essoualmi, I have been given two injections and have been perscribed some medications to help ease the pain and release the Urine out. The medications did Not help however, and I have been re-called for an immidiate surgery to empty the bladder on the 7th of Jan22 at 9h30am. The surgery went well and the obstruction felt somehow relieved.

Directly on the very next 24 hours however, the obstruction reappeared again - Urinary Blockade. A Complete obstruction can cause death of the cat in 3–6 days. I am maintaining a special diet of water and high-liquid food and taking my medications correctly, in addition to taking very specific supplememts of "expensive" Royal Canin URINARY "Croketts"; the blockage remained yet again.

On my following visit to the Vet, I was instructed to have an urgent Perineal Urethrostomy, in addition to a later "neutering"; if time remains in my favour. A perineal urethrostomy creates a new urinary opening that decreases the length of the urethra and allows urine to bypass this narrowed region.

According to the vet, cats with a blocked urethra in particulat may develop acute kidney failure and may develop very high blood potassium concentrations; these are life-threatening complications that should be checked URGENTLY. Ultrasound or X-rays are needed to help determine and locate the underlying cause of the obstruction, and to help determine the best possible treatment method.

The treatment procedure is quite expensive, and the surgery remains out of reach! We all yet agree that having to look into a companion pet's eyes and knowing that their medical care is unaffordable is one of the most heartbreaking situations any pet owner can ever face.

I unfortunately have been unable to find any adequate support from local charitable pets organisations; they have all directed me back to Vets!

I am hereby kindly requesting all you kind-hearted humans on this globe to help SAVE Kitty! The Vet's coordinates and medical documents will be communicated upon request. Your donation saves lives; and every single cent provided is greatly appreciated.

Love,

Kitty
