Hi everyone,

I am Mark Caceres and my Mother, Marivie Caceres, has Ovarian Cancer Stage 3 and presently has progressive abdomen tumor new growth.

FEBRUARY 2019 - WHEN IT ALL STARTED

My mother’s story of having the diagnosis started when she approached us of the continuous severe pain in her abdomen that led us to rush her at the nearest hospital, at 2am on February 14, 2019. They gave her pain reliever and asked us to be back to do several laboratory tests.

MARCH 2019 - THE DIAGNOSIS

From thereon, we noticed that her abdomen continuously bloating, her appetite slowed down, and she started to get full easily even with a 1 spoon of food intake.

Exactly one year ago, after the completion of all necessary lab tests, ultrasound etc., my mother was diagnosed officially with Ovarian Cancer - Stage 3. The doctor advised my mother to immediately undergo operation to extract the progressing tumor in her abdomen and to be followed by several chemotherapy sessions.

At that moment, we felt so much sadness and weak as we see cancer as a silent killer to every people fighting against it; because we can only name few who survived. At first, we have doubted this first official diagnosis which made us look for more different doctors opinions. But, unfortunately, they made the same assessment/diagnosis.

MARCH 2019 TO PRESENT 2020

Successful operation has done. Tumor has been extracted though there were group of small tumors which the surgeon refused to be removed because of the complication that might happen as it was attached to the gall bladder. This was, though, a breakthrough as my mom was able to eat well. Kudos to all the doctors who did the operation.

Following her continuous treatment, we refused for her to undergo chemotherapy, but rather do a home or alternative treatment for almost 8 months, which we believed, can naturally eliminate all cancer cells.

In November 2019, sadly, reoccurrence of the tumor’s symptoms happened. In and out of different hospitals and different doctors had been our routine. There were worst moments my mom cant eat for several days because of dizziness, full or loss of appetite. She felt severe pain in her abdomen and back - causing her sleep difficulties. Her doctor installed pigtail drainer injected inside her abdomen to drain the fluid that blocks by the tumor in her stomach but sadly, it didn't lessen the pain.

Until February 29 at 11:00 p.m., we rushed our mom to the hospital because of continuous severe abdominal and back pain. She was admitted and her attending doctor discussed us once again to immediately undergo chemotherapy; which we have now decided to proceed. All the requirements/lab tests before chemotherapy have been submitted, but sadly we were advised to delay it because my mom can't still eat and poop.

Currently, my mom has been continuously supplied w/ Kabiven (1 bag good for 24hrs), which acts as her artificial food, directly injected to her arm that passes through her bloodstream. Based on her ultrasound, the doctor saw a large mass of tumor that compresses my mom's intestines. Preventing her poops from passing. NG tube is also installed, to drain black toxic liquid stocked in her stomach that might raise complications to her lungs as it goes up.

Now, my mom's behavior has lessen. She can't even move or talk as she does normally. All she does is to sleep all day. Every 8hrs, they inject pain reliever that makes her feel sleepy most of the time. She is responding by only moving her head when asked.

For almost a year now, we’ve watched our Mom's battle with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer until now the new growth has come. Through countless rounds of treatments and in-and-out hospital stays, she has always maintained a positive outlook.

But now, my Mom is facing her most difficult battle yet and we need YOUR HELP to end her battle against cancer. We’re seeking for immediate financial assistance for all her medications and treatments. Any amount of donation would help greatly. It only takes a few seconds to donate but it could have a life-changing impact to us.

Our most immediate financial target is Php 900,000.00, more or less. This will cover the ff (as estimated by her attending doctor):

- Hospital stay (P2,200/day)

- Kabiven / Artificial food (P12,000/bag good for 24hrs or 1 day)

- Immediate operation before chemotherapy (P120-150,000.00); 1st set chemotherapy sessions (more of less P60,000/session every 3 weeks for a total of 6 sessions - P360,000.00)

- possible 2nd operation after 3rd session from the 1st set of chemo (P120-150,000.00)

- 2nd set of chemotherapy sessions (almost P60,000/session every 3 weeks for a total of 6 sessions - P360,000.00)

- And other expenses and necessary labtests

We’ve been here in the hospital for four days and we can’t still say until when we can financially support her medications as there’s no clear sign yet of my Mom to recover. My mom's HMO Cards are already exhausted. And the hospital has 24h strict protocol of letting the treatment STOP at the maximum billing amount of 35k. Meaning, if we have reached 35k or more, the treatment will be discontinued but this won’t happen if we will able to pay the due amount from time to time.

All the more, we all need everyone's prayers for my mom's speedy recovery, provision and undying strength for our family. Let us join my Mom's fight w/ the BIG C!!

God bless everyone!!
