My family and I appreciate the time you are taking to consider our plea for help on behalf of our mother.

She was recently diagnosed with T/C BAIAE CAP HR, ( Bronchial Asthma In Acute Exacerbation and Community Acquired Pneumonia) a lung condition which prevents her from breathing with ease.

She fell ill in October 2020, diagnosed with CAP (Community Acquired Pneumonia). She was treated and recovering well; however, required to be on oxygen indefinitely to help her lungs. On March 15th, her body temporarily became unable to expel carbon dioxide on its own. The carbon dioxide was pooling in her lungs and poisoning her. She was rushed to the hospital emergency room with laboured breathing and unconscious. She was placed on a respirator while doctors tried to reduce the inflammation in her lungs. That night, she went into cardiac arrest and miraculously was quickly revived. She is currently in ICU and continues to require the use of respirator to ensure her heart and lungs are monitored and stable but is showing slow signs of progress. The doctors reassures us that she has a chance to heal and live a good life - but she will need to be kept on a respirator for a short time to give her lungs time to heal.

We are doing our best to provide for her needs but the financial strain is heavy. Her hospital bills, excluding professional fees and medications, is PHP 125,000 a day (USD $2,570). As of right now, we are given no indication as to when she will be released, however it is anticipated that it will be at least two to three weeks. Once she is released, she will need care at home and continue to require costly medications.

She is currently at Pacific Global Medical Center. We have contacted many public hospitals, including Lung Centre, with no luck due to the high volume of COVID-19 patients. We are also trying to seek financial assistance from the government in hopes that we can mitigate some of our financial hardships, but as you know approval for this help can be difficult to acquire.

Our family and I are here to ask with a heavy heart and deep sadness for any help you can extend to give our mom a fighting chance. We thank you for those who have reached out and offered support and continued prayers.

Our mother is a fighter. She has taught us to be humble and strong and to remain hopeful despite the challenges and difficulties in life. She is the head of our family, a source of our love and joy and continued encouragement. She loves her family and grandchildren and is fighting every moment to stay with us.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May God bless you always.
