Osmundo Gonzales when he was still working at Carnival Cruise Lines

Osmundo Gonzales, husband and father is a former well respected employee of Carnival Cruise lines where he worked as cabin crew for many years, before being forced to leave due to health problems. This job enabled Osmundo to purchase a business, land and property over the years which he loved and thrived at.

Osmundo, being a great family man, with a wife and two sons whom he loves dearly, supports them as much as he can, unfortunately, Osmundo was diagnosed with heart disease triggered by heart enlargement, causing symptoms such as swollen legs, chronic fatigue and shortness of breath, meaning Osmundo will need to take medication for the rest of his life. In recent years he has struggled to continue to support his family.

Due to factors outside of his control, such as Osmundo's worsening heart condition, lack of employment and business misfortune, events took a turn for the worst and the Gonzales family gradually lost their business, land, property and even their own family home, rendering them bankrupt with no where to go; devastating the family. Luckily, Osmundo's brother, offered the Gonzales' a place to stay and they pulled together during this tough time

They muddled along until 2013, when the Gonzales family were hit with another blow, Osmundo's youngest son was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a mental disorder causing hallucinations, mood swings and poor memory. His son is in need of constant supervision and on-going medication to control the symptoms. As well as this, Osmundo was called upon to support his distraught daughter in law and two year old granddaughter after his son was declared not fit for work due to his mental disorder. Osmundo's eldest son cannot assist Osmundo as he is also experiencing serious financial difficulties.

Regardless of these dire circumstances, Osmundo, a proud man who is sixty eight years old, with a wife of sixty three, continues to battle on and work at odd jobs, selling junk or dried fish day after day in the hope he can lead his family out of the mess they are in and provide food and medicine for a little while longer.

On top of everything, Osmundo's wife has diabetes, it is vital that she adheres to a strict diet to avoid more health complications, furthermore, she has developed painful kidney stones. Osmundo is heartbroken that he cannot afford the medical bills to get these removed. He continues to work odd jobs for pittance to buy the food and medication he and his family desperately need but with rising medical costs and constantly having more money going out than coming in, Osmundo just cannot make ends meet. In addition, Osmundo's own illness is at risk of getting worse, due to the stress and the long hours he works in trying to provide for his family.

Despite the problems he faces, Osmundo is a positive and determined man, longing to get himself and his family's future back on track after a tough few years, by setting up his own business to bring in more money, in order to feed his family and provide much needed medication. There is just one problem, Osmundo just simply cannot afford to raise the capital needed to get his venture off the ground. Although Osmundo's brother provided a place to stay

Call it circumstances or just pure bad luck, the plight of a family has come to rest on one sick mans shoulders, Osmundo Gonzales. If you would like to assist Osmundo and his family to secure a future every human being deserves and begin to provide the essentials they all need to survive this life, then you can help this hardworking gentleman raise funds by donating to this fundraising page.
