Please save my mom’s life

I NEED YOUR HELP TO SAVE MY MOM'S LIFE

My mom was very recently diagnosed with Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer caused by coming into contact with Asbestos. The shock of hearing the diagnosis was terrifying in and of itself, and was followed immediately by another revelation - my mom has no insurance and the cost of treatment is extreme.

Cancer treatment
After a CT scan over the weekend, a number of tumors were found in my Mom's right lung. As soon as the cancer diagnosis was made, doctors informed me she would need to follow the entire cancer treatment regimen to survive: surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy. My out-of-pocket medical costs for the initial surgery, post-surgery hospitalization, and medicine amount to a total of at least $79,000 - and more may be needed. Needless to say, this figure is astronomical.

Why I need your help
My entire life I have been a proudly independent woman. I emigrated to this country, put myself through school, earned my citizenship, and built my career here.

But this, I cannot do alone.

Here is where I need your help.

My mom is retired and lives on a pension of $400 a month. As a parent, she cannot be added to my insurance, as only children can be claimed as dependents. She is not a US citizen so she is ineligible for ACA.

I cannot do this without your help. Please donate, spread the word and give whatever you can to save the life of a woman whose love and self-sacrifice made me who I am today. Even a small amount will help

About my Mom
My Mom is the most self-sacrificing and loving person I've ever known. She raised me to always achieve the highest standard, study hard, and do the right thing. She has the most generous heart of anyone I've met , when a neighbor in her small apartment in Romanigot sick, she went to the hospital and brought him food for days despite barely knowing him. She is always the first to show up when things go bad and help in anyway needed - cooking, cleaning, or just be there to offer love and support to those in need. She is strong, big hearted and endlessly generous.
