Campaign Story
I just lost a years-long lawsuit against the water company. They made a leak below the sidewalk and blamed me for excessive consumption. I had to switch lawyers because the first one didn't do anything, but it was too late. See the lawsuit. I had recorded a video showing that the amount of water lost from this leak corresponds to the amount of excessive comsumption the water company is charging me for, but the previous lawyer lost the deadlines to counter the company's arguments.
I'll appeal against the judge's decision, but now I have to pay all the years of leaked water. By losing the first instance of the lawsuit, my judicial protection against a water cut has run out, and the judge didn't order the company to fix the leak. The leaked water bills are over R$ 5500 already, and I'll also have to pay over R$ 6 thousand in judicial costs.
Those are the urgent costs. In addition to that, I'm financially ruined. My sister had to undergo a knee surgery, the car broke several times this year, my wife lost her job due to the pandemic, and I lost all my financial reserves when the investment company that managed them went bankrupt. I'm swamped in debt and we can barely buy groceries anymore. I don't have any solution to be able to put food on the table and keep paying the bills, so I'm selling our house. I've nearly lost my family due to isolating myself in despair, but my wonderful wife is giving me all her strength and we'll stand together even if we don't have a place to live anymore.
2020 is being an atrocious year. I have no hopes of being able to resume work on my ambitious projects, but at least I hope not all is lost for my family. I love my family, and any help you can give will be more than welcome.

I had paused the campaign in the hopes that we could raise enough money in other ways, but it didn't work.Nowadays my wife got a full time job, and I'm doing game engine develpment on Patreon, but bad surprises keep coming from time to. . . . .

Update posted by Manoel Kasimier at 04:07 pmFirst, the good news: I was able to recover $5800 in funds of my sister, so now she can pay the loan she took to pay for her knee surgery. The campaign's total amount needed was adjusted down accordingly. This means we are now 13% funded!We have been quite silent. . . . .

I still can't pay it because GoGetFunding takes 30 days to allow withdrawal, but we're safe because there would still be an. . . . .
