Hi, my name is Jed Gonzaga, 33 and a resident of Ozamis City, Misamis Occidental Philippines. I am the 3rd among 5 siblings in the family and I am the only breadwinner of the family for over 11 years now. I have zero savings since everything I earn goes to my family to address all their needs - from the food they eat everyday, emergencies, monthly utility bills and others. We belong to a poor family, we grew up without owning even a single property, house or lot or even family savings. We lived in a house for 30 years built in a lot we never owned and just way back 2011, we were asked to vacate the land so we had to build a simple house again in another lot that we don't own.

Life has been difficult specially for me that I have no back up. Since I was young, my only goal in life is focused on giving my family the best future that they deserve. Unfortunately, doing it all by myself made it very hard for me to make that happen. My father is 65, my mother is 64. The most vulnerable one is my mom - she has been diagnosed with Toxic Goiter, weak heart and severe asthma attacks but we had to stop medications years back due to financial challenges. But this changed last December 31, 2020 when we're about to celebrate a simple New Year's Celebration. We witness the most difficult scene we never saw before - our poor father was shaking, unable to move his body parts, looked pale, unable to talk, temperate went up high and got paralyzed. We all cried, our mom lost focus. We can't even bring him to the hospital due to too much high temperature we were afraid he might be brought to COVID ward and might not be able to assist him anymore. For me, my father was the most strong person I ever know. He spent his years working as car technician and raised us all by himself since our mom is too vulnerable to do some job. But what happened that day made me realize that my father is more vulnerable and it is breaking me watching him with the entire body got paralyzed.

The first two weeks of January 2021, I had to file a leave from work because I lost my focus, I was handling a team at work but had to let them go. Due to zero savings, I discovered Loan Mobile Apps - apps that can grant loans with no collateral, they only need Valid IDs, Employment Documents, References and an access to my mobile phone including contacts. At first I survived and continued supporting my dad and family even without work because of these apps but later I noticed I was cornered already due to no other source of fund, I had to borrow from people I know to pay the apps, re-apply for a loan to pay the other loan apps until it became a non-ending reloan just to pay the other apps and if my salary is not enough, I had to borrow again from other people until I came to the point of contacting all people I know on social media just to borrow. This has been on-going since January 2021 until as of this writing. The reason why I had to make such effort is because these Loan Apps are known as Shark Loan Apps. In my case, I have been dealing with 9 apps already. They call these Shark Loan Apps because of high interest with very short loan terms (7 days, 14 days) and their agents will call you on your due date and will threat you that if you do not pay, they will contact the phone contacts they got from my phone to spread that I owe them. It came to the point that they contacted some of my contacts and asked them to pay what I owe so these people got mad at me and asked me to settle. Now the people I owe money are asking me already to return what I borrowed, most of the good relationship I had with these people got broken because of my incapability to return what I owe when they needed it. I wish I could pay them all at once but my salary is not even enough to settle the loan apps first. So say for example, if I have salary today, that is no longer enough to pay the 9 apps so maybe I can pay 3 of them, then reloan again to pay the other 3 and the rest, I will need to borrow again from people to settle.. If you are wondering how high the interest are, say for example if I file a loan from 1 loan app for P10,000 the only amount they will release is P6,100. The difference of P3,900 is where they are earning from. Now I could not control everything anymore. I came to the point that I had to sell my phone just to pay 4 out of these 9 loan apps but since there were some other people asking me to return what I owe them then I was forced to reloan from those 4 apps again so from 5 remaining loan apps, I went back to 9 again.

The only solution that I have now is to accumulate a large amount of money enough to finally zero out the 9 Loan Apps and pay everyone I owe money for all at once. It's been weeks that I could not sleep well dealing with all these and I came to the point telling myself that I cannot do this anymore all by myself. I am working and my salary was supposed to be going to my family but right now it is going somewhere else. I miss the days that I can focus at work, I miss the feeling of sleeping well, I miss those happy moments I had with my family, I miss those days when I share my salary to my family. Now everyday becomes a nightmare and a trauma for me since I am dealing with this all by myself. My father is recovering although he is really different now, he is no longer that strong but I am happy seeing him eat and do baby steps from paralysis. I know I can still support my dad's needs. I just need help to zero out these loan apps and pay everyone I owe from all at once so I can start fresh and continue with supporting my family just like before.

I really need your help. I am knocking on your doors. Thank you and may God bless you all.
