Currently, Gaza City has only electricity supply of 120 megawatts or less than 8 hours a day. In fact, the demand for electricity throughout Gaza reaches 600 megawatts. In other words, it took more than 400 megawatts of electricity to support the daily needs of the Gaza people.

In addition to supporting daily needs, power supplies in Gaza are needed to support activities at various hospitals. With the conditions of war that often heats up, the existence of the hospital becomes very vital because the victim or patient can appear anytime, with an unpredictable amount, and need immediate medical help.

The hospital's most promising condition is reflected by one SSI partner, "The hospital in Gaza is facing serious problems. In what other way can life thousands of medical devices such as MRIs, CT scanners, and x-ray machines if the electricity does not turn on ?, "he said.

Already since February, Palestinian Health Ministry announced the threat of operational dismissal that hit 19 medical facilities in Gaza. Emergency generators at 16 clinics and 3 hospitals have run out of fuel as the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip is strained and the problem continues to this day.

Until now, ACT, Rumah Yatim and Me are working with local partners to continue distributing diesel fuel to hospitals that are threatened to close due to the electricity crisis. Tens of thousands of liters of fuel were transported using tank trucks to targeted hospitals. Throughout March, 32,000 liters of fuel was distributed to five hospitals in Gaza. Among them are Shohadaa Alaqsa Hospital, Al-Syifa Hospital, Europian Hospital, Nasr Hospital, and Bait Hanoun Hospital.

This condition is up to now still not showing a bright spot. The need for fuel as a hospital electrical energy is still needed. Especially with the condition of the conflict that heats up again, considering the events of Al-Awdah March that caused more than 40 people died.

On the other hand, the coming of the month of Ramadhan must also be its own focus to ensure during the month of Ramadan, the hospital can continue to operate. This is expected to give a little calm and reduce kekwahatiran for our brothers in Palestine who are running fast.
