I am a 25-year-old mother of 2 (1 boy and 1 girl), who has had a passion for art ever since I tried to paint Elmo on my grandmother’s den wall with my aunt’s fingernail polish at the age of 4. Throughout my educational career I have not had the opportunity to advance my artistic abilities with formal classroom training (as I greatly desired). Nevertheless, I did not let that block my aspirations nor my creativity. My dream has always been to work as an animator at a top studio; however, life has a funny way of steering you off the highway and onto another road – that and scary tuition fees. Therefore, I was not able to attend art school, move to California, and frolick on the baech 24/7 like I had it planned in my head while filling out college applications during senior week in high school. Aside from reaching people’s emotions through art, I enjoy helping mend people’s emotions through talking and listening. This led me to countless hours and many sleepless nights – including many trips to Starbucks – in order to achieve a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Although I am currently in my first year of graduate school (studying Counseling Psychology), I never gave up the desire to become an animator and inspire people with the gift God has blessed me with. Therefore, I have spent my spare time reading through magazines, learning programs, and watching YouTube videos to increase my artistic craft. But guess what … “What?” … I have FINALLY found a reasonably affordable animation program that fits my needs, and gives me an opportunity to advance in that field that I have not been able to come across since I first began my search. I was accepted into the program last week (whoop whoop), but some of the payment is due within the next two weeks. Although this school is so much more affordable than most others, I still need help with tuition. Financial aid does not cover this school, and it is hard to get approved for outside student loans since I am unemployed – due to me helping my grandmother with my 90% dependent grandfather. Additionally, I still have expenses for grad school to pay for that financial aid does not cover, and I have to make sure my children are taken care of. With your help, I will be able to fund the first 12 weeks of my animation program! Your support will enable me to get closer to my dream. I see myself in the near future working at a top animation studio, and then going on to create my own animated web series to help children and adults whom suffer from various mental illnesses. I believe in doing what you love, no matter the situation. Therefore, even though my academic studies have led me into a world of psychology, I have kept myself in the world of art. I have managed to become a successful psychology student while still making my mark creatively by obtaining commissioned projects from local music artists, local churches, local businesses, local media outlets, and from successful selling opportunities on eBay. I will continue to advance my artistic journey as far as life will take me.   Thank you for your support!!
