Please Help Wendell Beat Rectosigmoid Cancer

We are humbly knocking on your kind hearts to help Wendell in prayers and raise funds for his battle against stage 4 Rectosigmoid Cancer.

He is 38 years old and working as an Engineer in the construction industry in Singapore on S-Pass.

INITIAL DIAGNOSIS:

Around end November 2021, he came to the Sengkang Hospital Emergency Department after continuously experiencing unbearable stomach pains with bloody stool discharge.He was admitted for further investigation after initial tests showed that he was also already having kidney failure.

He underwent a few series of tests and eventually, he was first diagnosed with stage 3B Rectosigmoid Cancer. Urgent surgery was required as the cancer was already almost blocking his intestine.This devastating news came as a shock due to his age and he was otherwise living healthily as well.

As he had no next of kin in Singapore and also cannot afford the treatment costs, he immediately flew back to the Philippines for the surgery to remove part of his colon and rectum in December 2021. He was also treated with daily radiation and chemotherapy cycle every 3 weeks until June 2022.

Wendell was cleared to go back to his work in Singapore in July 2022. He was optimistic and overjoyed to have a sense of normalcy after the gruelling treatment and recovery process and to finally be able to have the means to provide for his two sons again whom he love and cherish the most.

CANCER RELAPSE:

Upon his recent CT, PET scan and check up, the doctors found out that there are cancerous tumors in his liver and recurrence in the colon. As the cancer is elevated to stage 4 and is aggressive, he will be needing urgent further treatments and 2 surgeries.

B.Urgent Treatments

1. Chemotherapy
-Approx. 6 cycles first before another evaluation
2. Targeted Therapy
-Approx. 6 cycles first before another evaluation
3. Port-a-cath- implanted under the chest skin for the medicine infusions/continuous drip
4. Surgery (Liver Masectomy)
5. Surgery (Colon)


The estimated cost for the treatments and surgeries is around $270,000 sgd

The amounting medical fees from his previous procedures and treatments had already taken a toll in his family's finances. He will not be able to afford the expensive treatments that are further required.
