Purpose for Fundraiser: A Dream Deferred

                    When it comes to having big dreams and fulfilling them, one has to start somewhere.  Therefore, I am finally taking the first step into a career in fashion.  As you know, my # 1 dream is to one day have a clothing collection (several actually) within my very own clothing company; a company that will benefit the masses through community involvement, development, and contributions on a global spectrum.  I have placed this dream on hold for many reasons over the last 6 years, but it has always resided within me.  It is part of my identity.  And now it is giving me that burning sensation inside, reminding me that I have to do this...for ME.  

A difference in my life for the purpose of helping others

          As I've mentioned before, in order to fulfill a dream one has to start somewhere.  Well, about 2 years ago the idea to become a stylist came to me.  I thought, as a style consultant I can tap into the fashion industry while shopping, consulting, and making people look their best!  Helping others has always brought me joy.  But what if I could incorporate my love for helping people... into my love for fashion?  That would be a win-win!  The formula provides me with an opportunity of a lifetime and my clients will have gained self confidence and an overall positive perspective on their lives.  

          So I had an idea, I conducted intense research, and I was later presented with the opportunity to gain the knowledge, credentials, as well as my place in the fashion industry.  But time passed by, financial and family setbacks arose, and once again I had to put my goals and dreams on hold.  But this is my last chance and I am not letting it get away this time.  

The Opportunity of a Lifetime

               There is a 3 day style class in Los Angeles in August.  The classes are conducted and instructed by celebrity stylist Luke Storey and personal stylist, Lauren Messiah. Also, the special celebrity stylist guest for this session is Monica Rose!  The classes are on the actual business of styling-how to get started and how the styling business works. The fundamentals of fashion through the art and technique of styling is also included.  The opportunities are endless upon completion of these classes.  I get instant access to job opportunities in the styling business, great references, and a plethora of resources among many other benefits! Most importantly, I get my start as I could get my business running right away! I recently contacted Luke to hold my space in the classes so that I could come up with the funds for enrollment, plane ticket, hotel, and transportation.  He agreed! 

          I am burning with excitement as I type this...because for once I feel one step closer to fulfilling my ultimate goals and aspirations.  Am I scared to take this step? YES! But I know I need to do it.

                    As a reward for helping me begin my journey, you will receive a handcrafted Thank You card (designed by yours truly).  Along with the card, you will receive a photo at the completion of my class with one of the instructors and/or the guest stylist.  (Hoping they agree to support me with this after I emphasize how important you were in my journey there).  You will also receive a monthly update on my success as a stylist and a yearly newsletter thereafter of my overall business and life accomplishments!
