It turns out our financial situation has taken a turn for the worse. Canada Post isn't allowing me to return to work with the requested hours in order for me to function, I have depression and panic attacks that keep me from working graveyard shift. I often feel hopeless and suicidal, despite the medication I'm on. It has been on going for some time. I have been doing everything I possibly can. I met with my doctor, I collected E.I over the past month, Alberta Works won't help me and suggested CPP disability. I wouldn't be able to pay it back. I'm on CPP but only receive 300 a month. I live with my daughter and she cannot work due to being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder along with other psychiatric problems. She's receiving 900 dollars a month from Alberta Works. I'm about to meet with Canada Post one last time to see if I can go back to work with full wages.. If not, I will have to take them to court for undue hardship. We wouldn't even be close to affording the court costs.
We talked to our landlord and he would be willing to help us enough to lower our rent from 1400 [Utilities are included and pay an average of 2-300 a month. The rent is at a 50/50 payment for main floor suite and basement, pet rent is 50 a month and the garage is 50 a month. We are dropping the garage. ] He offered to help us for two months by allowing us to pay one month of 1000 and then the rest through out the next month. We can't even afford to do that. We would have to find another solution. I believe that not only would we be evicted but the innocent people living below us who have nothing to do with this. Our landlord would also lose his house. We love our landlord but even he has his responsibilities.
We are trying to look for a cheaper place to live but we won't be able to find one by that time that takes dogs larger than 25 pounds and is cheap enough so we can afford to eat and pay utilities. [700-800]
We're quickly running out of time and the end of the month is coming fast. All we can do is ask for help and thank you graciously for taking the time to care about our problems. These funds would help us have some breathing room, help more people than ourselves and give me much needed time to work with my employer.
