PLEASE HELP US WITH THE SHIPPING COSTS TO HELP MAKE 15 FIJI SCHOOLS RECEIVED THEIR GIFT OF DONATED BOOKS FOR THEIR SMALL SCHOOL LIBRARIES IN MARCH/APRIL 2013.
100% of all donations will be going directly towards helping pay for the expensive shipment of educational books for up to 20 recipient Fiji Schools.
We are seeking urgent assistance to help meet the costs)associated with shipping and transporting over 13 cubic metres (10 pallets @ 600 kgs ) of quality new and preloved educational books for the school children of Fiji.
Three (3) of the Fiji Schools were devastated by Cyclone Evan before Christmas last year and are located in the Yasawas.
To date I have had an incredibly positive response towards our project.
We have received educational donations from such companies as the NSW Department of Education, Encyclopedia Brittanica, Modern Star including wonderful quality children's story books from many Authors, Illustrators, Publishers, Australian Schools, Teachers, Families and many other caring individuals from all around the world not just Australia.
Our small team comprises of three ladies, Corrine Angus from New Zealand, Annie Madden from Suva, Fiji, and myself, Michele Darmanin from Sydney Australia.
The key objectives of our project include:
> Strengthen reading skills, knowledge and awareness by providing Fijian school children access to quality books.
> Impart and nurture a love and appreciation for reading and learning - for Fijian kindergarten, primary and high school students.
> Establish and/or restock school libraries for the neediest schools, especially those is more remote locations, some of which have not received new books for up to 20 years.
The list of recipient Fiji Schools will increase up to 20 as this changes due to the confirmation from Head Teachers.
I sincerely believe this will give positive hope to many school children, teachers and communities throughout Fiji.
So please consider and support this important educational project for the school children of Fiji.
Can you please help us make this dream become a reality.
It is our ultimate goal to essentially strengthen learning and knowledge through the wealth of the books being donated from Australia and New Zealand next year throughout our project 'Donate A Book to the Remote and Isolated Schools in Fiji' (Australia) and 'Donate Books to Fiji Schools (New Zealand).

It's such a fantastic project! I respect so much the hard work that Michele is putting into it and that's why it's the second year that I'm supporting donating my books...! :)
