Please Help Us Save Our Mama Gin

Dear All,

We would like to appeal to your kind-hearted souls to save our Mama, VIRGINIA “Gin” TIZON, and plead for your humble generosity to help us with her medical and hospital expenditures.

Last April 27, 2020 evening, we rushed our Mama to Asian Hospital and Medical Center, because she has been complaining of chest pains and difficulty in breathing. Upon diagnosis at the ER, she apparently had a Heart Attack a couple of days prior. Mama needed to undergo Angioplasty Procedure, immediately that night, to unclog a major artery and to prevent worsening her condition. She was then brought to the ICU.

Unfortunately, Mama was also diagnosed with a High Risk Community-Acquired Pneumonia, which needed her to be intubated with ventilator. With the current pandemic, we fear that she might have acquired the Covid-19 virus as well. But after swab testing protocol, before her Angioplasty Procedure, thankfully her result turned out Negative.

After weeks in ICU, upon her extubation, Mama had a major Cardiac Arrest. Thankfully again, the doctors were able to revive her.

However, the doctors advised us that Mama's heart was already really weak and that she needed a pacemaker. They described the pacemaker as a "life saving device" that will extend Mama's life. We agreed to the doctors' recommendation because we really want Mama to get better and we can see that she is fighting for her life.

We thought she was getting better, but she has been back-and-forth in the ICU for intubation, due to complications with her weakened heart and lungs.

Currently, this morning today July 14, 2020, she needed to undergo a Tracheostomy procedure. This is needed to prevent further intubation trauma. After the procedure, she is back again in the ICU.

We, me, my sister Emely and our family, have already exhausted all our means of resources and have already reached the point of “no hope” to cope with our Mama’s medical and hospital expenditures.

What is more disheartening in our family was that just recently, two of our closest relatives, our Tita in abroad who was a Medical Frontliner, diagnosed with Covid-19 virus in early June 2020, succumbed to it with complications on the same month; while a Tito who lived with his family in Quezon City, succumbed to Severe Pneumonia with heart complications back in early April 2020.
