Hi everyone, my grandmother Estrella B. Javier has been in the hospital since April 20, 2021. A lot of tests were done and the initial findings were heart failure, gastroenteritis, and pneumonia. But based on recent CT Scan results - she has a large mass in her lungs. This still needs to be tested if it can be rolled out as cancer or not. Another complication was found - there is water in her liver and a large mass was also found there. We were advised that the priority will be the mass in her lungs first then drain the water in her liver then the mass.

We searched for a hospital for almost 2 weeks, we waited in line just to get her admitted. She was advised to be placed under ICU, but due to increased covid cases, all hospitals are at full capacity. She is a non-covid patient, her RT-PCR test came out negative. So we opted to have her admitted to a regular room with ICU set up which costs a lot. She is under strict monitoring as her blood pressure drops now and then. Despite all the tests, needles, and tubes she never complained she is a fighter, she wants to live longer. Whenever we call her, she puts on a smile and tells us she will be home soon.

Currently, her running bill is now way beyond our means, which still does not include professional fees, (cardiologist, pulmonologist, nephrologist, gastrologist, and possible oncologist) would still increase because she still needs to stay at the hospital. Unluckily she does not have insurance. But we had to take a risk and had her admitted to a private hospital that was available at the earliest.

I am asking for help - any help is a big help. We have exhausted all means possible. We have been reaching out to local governments and NGOs. My kids even, gave up some of their toys and books just to help raise funds. I guess what is driving and pushing us, is just seeing how my grandmother is fighting to live.

My Grandmother is the kindest, gentle and selfless person I know. She loves our family more than anything in the world.
