Campaign Story
We, the loved ones of our 81-year-old mother and grandmother Mommy Patty (Herminia Tenorio-Malabed), knock on your compassionate hearts to help us support Mommy Patty’s fight against COVID-19, which is complicated by underlying illnesses such as Type 2 diabetes, cellulitis of the feet, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) on her left leg.
Coming at a time when cases are rising exponentially in the Philippines and hospitals are being filled with patients anew, our family had to spend an entire day contacting more affordable medical institutions while Mommy Patty was being stabilized due to hypoglycemia at the Emergency Room of the Manila East Medical Center (MEMC) Taytay, Rizal. Sadly, even when we had found another hospital, the ER doctor deemed it risky for her to be transferred. She was unresponsive for a time, and found to be COVID-positive. We were left with no option but to have her admitted in MEMC on January 5, 2022.
The family needs to raise the amount of Php 1,500,000.00 (30,000.00 USD) by February 7, 2022 to cover the costs of Mommy Patty’s diagnostic tests and treatment for COVID-19 and other medical conditions, including possible surgery. Unfortunately, because Mommy Patty had already been hospitalized in November 2021, and is still undergoing treatment due to cellulitis of the feet and DVT, our family’s meager resources have been depleted.
In May 2021, Mommy Patty lost her husband of 60 years to renal and lung diseases. She has been bedridden for years, and is totally dependent on the care of her family. In these trying times, we ask for your kindness and generosity to help Mommy Patty win for her life. It is the least we can do for the woman who had dedicated most of her life taking care of her husband, four children, her grandchildren, and even her great-grandchild.
