WHO ARE WE?

Jaded Outreach

is a Social Entrepreneurial Company that is dedicated to providing Health and Sanitation Literacy to impoverished communities, through means of hosting Free workshops, at schools to ensure that vital information is made accessible.

We strive to being recognized as Industry key leaders in Bio-Remedial Solutions and accredited Training Facilitators, particularly in the literacy and Environmental Studies Fields.

Our mission is accompanied by providing Organic Solutions, Products and information booklets to Schools and Communities that have inadequate sanitation and lack of Service Delivery at low to NO cost, if feasible.

Our VISION is holistic and is driven by dedication, enthusiasm and cooperation with individuals and organisations whose objectives correlate with ours and which can be implemented from a Grassroots level.

OUR SANITATION FOR ALL CAMPAIGN

Our Sanitation For All Project is an ongoing project which we initiated in 2016 in the Eastern Cape Province.

Our team did area and sanitation assessments for over +25 schools and villages, predominantly in towns such as Fort Beaufort, Alice and Whittlesea and Cofimvaba, to name a few.

Together with the support of traditional leaders and community members, we treated numerous active and old-formed Pit latrines for Free with funding received through fundraising initiatives and as donations from our company.

This cooperative effort successfully contributed towards us cleaning up over 200 Pit toilets, ensuring a hygienic, sterilized environment and restoring a sense of dignity back into the community.

We are accredited distributors of locally manufactured Bio-remedial products which degrade hazardous waste into harmless by products.

LACK OF SANITATION: THE PROBLEM

“The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) considers
flush toilets, ventilated pit latrines (VIP) and Enviroloos (urine diversion or composting toilets) as acceptable sanitation facilities.1 While most people prefer flush toilets, VIPs and Enviroloos offer a safe and healthy alternative in areas where there is not enough water or suitable infrastructure to support waterborne sanitation. Ordinary pit latrines and bucket toilets are considered inadequate as they fail to stop flies and other pests spreading germs.” http://http/www.childrencount.org.za/indicator.php...

CALL TO ACTION-PLEASE HELP US SAVE LIVES

URGENT ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED

MORE THAT 5000 SCHOOLS IN SOUTH AFRICA IN SOUTH AFRICA DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ADEQUATE AND ARE STILL USING PIT LATRINES

The call to Action from President Cyril Ramaphosa for civilians to embark on sanitation missions, is but only a highlighted example of the awareness that we, at Jaded Outreach, have set out to create throughout the past few years.

Reports on the mission to eradicating the source of the inadequate sanitation have been misleading. Whilst proper infrastructures are being constructed, lives are being lost due to waterborne diseases and or chemical burns due to dangerous acids being used to "clean" these Latrines

PRESS RELEASES STATING THE AMOUNT OF DEATHS THAT OCCURRED DUE TO THE LACK OF PROPER LATRINES.

Research states that there are more than 3000 schools in the Eastern Cape Province – about 60% of all schools in the province – do not have proper sanitation.

  • The Eastern Cape Department of Education said it needs R62 BILLION to replace the unhealthy and unhygienic pit latrines with proper ablution facilities. Education MEC Mandla Makupula said the department plans to fix 700 of these schools over the next 10 years.
  • Makupula said out of the 5460 schools in the province, 3088 have insufficient sanitation. He said the backlog was huge and would therefore not be met by the annual budget of R1.5 billion that the department received from Treasury.

WHAT IS OUR SOLUTION?

EMBARKING ON AN ECO MISSION TO CLEAN UP SOUTH AFRICAN SCHOOLS

We have take into account We have taken into account the factors that act as catalysts to general dissatisfaction when referring to inadequate sanitation, however instead of advocating prevention, civil society is drawn towards finding solutions.

It's a fact that prevention is better than cure, so Jaded Outreach's mission is holistic and aims to provide an interim sustainable solution, whilst proper latrines are being built. This is a process that the Government states is set to take 30 YEARS TO COMPLETE

ONE PACKET of SEWAGEFIX is sufficient to degrade human waste and clean ONE PIT LATRINE

  1. A monthly application is advisable however not mandatory. If OXIDIZE is applied as a degradation BOOSTER prior to SEWAGEFIX, more oxygen is boosted into the waste providing an environment where the microbes found in SEWAGEFIX, enhance their effect for a longer period of time, simply by adding more water for stimulation of activity. . If the "boosted" process is followed, the application of SEWAGFIX can occur every 2-3 months. Through our assessment of each Latrine, we will provide the most effective solution to ensure success.
    • Some of the many benefits of SEWAGEFIX is that it degrades tissue paper as well. In a nutshell, human waste is degraded completely into odourless, nutrient enriched GREYWATER AND HARMLESS CARBON DIOXIDE LEAVING THE PIT EMPTY AND STERILE
    • Not only can SEWAGEFIX be used in Pit Latrines, Septic Tanks, and sewage spills, it also eradicates the odour, which attracts flies, within hours of application.

SEWAGEFIX:THE GREENER, MORE SUSTAINABLE TREATMENT OF SEWAGE

OXIDIZE- OXYGEN BOOSTER TO WASTE (Speeds up degradation)

OUR GUARANTEED PLEDGE

Our distributing agent's agreement with the manufacturer allows us to purchase products at cost price, subsequently allowing us to sell the product at an affordable price in comparison to competitive solutions to degrading hazardous waste, which in most cases are chemically based, hazardous and provide short term solutions, OR donate for free in a subsidized initiative such as our current campaign.

We have strong business development insights. Together with administrative support, we also include translators as contributors to our research and training team to ensure that vital information and instructions are not lost due to lack of language Proficiency.

PHASE ONE

REACHING OUR FIRST AND SECOND THRESHOLDS WILL ALLOW US TO CLEAN 500 SCHOOLS

Our current focus areas for the first leg of our Sanitation for All campaign are within the Eastern Cape Province, as this is where we carried out our initial research and pilot programs in schools throughout the past 3 years.

Our objective was to assess the need for sanitation relief in rural villages and advise holistic solutions to factors that marred development due to the effects of inadequate sanitation. We found that most schools were in subjected to undignified and unsafe conditions, therefore fueling our desire to bring IMMEDIATE AND EFFECTIVE CHANGE.

Previously we have encountered issues with accessing some of the more remote villages. Therefore we have special Sewage Remedial Kits available to ensure holistic treatment. These kits are shipped to the areas with clear instructions for application, which are available in various local languages.

PHASE TWO

This phase is aimed at working to clean up schools, together with appointed Sanitation Pioneers in Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal Provinces. These provinces have been reported to have one of the highest amount of schools that currently have Pit Latrines as the ONLY form of sanitation facility.

Given we raise enough funds to carry out PHASE 2 we would be able to send Pit Toilet treatment packages and sanitation information booklets to areas which are being mostly affected.

PHASE THREE

The third part of the Eco Mission is to inspire a PAY IT FORWARD program that can be efficiently implemented within communities across South Africa. The objectives would correlate with results from the application of Research Based Programs.

Together with appointed Trained Agents in the respective rural areas, we aim to visit schools and do initial crisis treatments; provide training on management of Pit Latrines and pass the baton to key leaders such as Principals, Medical Staff and Parents within these communities.

HOW DO WE CARRY OUT OUR MISSION?

WE BELIEVE IN CREATING A PLATFORM FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH BY PROVIDING A PART TIME WORK OPPORTUNITY FOR ASPIRING ECO WARRIORS

We have a team of agents who are currently part of our :#Masisebenzisane "LET'S WORK TOGETHER" Program which is our commission-based sales Agents Initiative.

Through provision of training on how to treat all kinds of waste organically, we also entrust the agents in assisting in sub distributing the organic sanitation product range manufactured by Sewage Waste Solutions (SWS).

These agents carry out treatments within their own communities and surrounding areas to ensure direct integration into areas which urgently require sanitation assistance.

This "Working Together" initiative not only pays forward the challenge to ensure clean Pit Latrines, it also aims to eradicate poverty and unemployment, by providing an active platform for "Each one, Teach one" programs, such as Language, health and fitness and artisan skills, to be implemented from a grassroots level.

We visit schools and assess the state of sanitation and provide and implement a crisis treatment plan. This includes assessments of classrooms, kitchens (if any) and playgrounds. Our site assessments are subjective and provide a holistic source treatment plan which is easy to follow.

We pride ourselves in ensuring schools, pupils and community members have access to realistic methods on how best to avoid contamination from hazardous waste and bacteria commonly found in waste water and shared public spaces.

Sustainable solutions and plans include *GROW FARMS AND FOOD GARDENS AT SCHOOLS*using our Soil Remedial Products to renew the quality of the soil, which in most cases is damaged by decades of digging of pit latrines and closing them off once full, only for residents to dig another pit latrine right next the old formed one.
Please read on the effects of
" HOW PIT LATRINES EFFECT SOIL AND GROUNDWATER "

HOW DO WE INTEND TO USE THE FUNDING RAISED?

IMPLEMENTING OBJECTIVES SET IN PHASES 1, 2 IN THE EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

Our Goal is to provide 1 packet of SewageFIX for Every Packet bought.

This means for every packet bought, we will donate one EXTRA PACKET of Oxidize or SewageFIX TO SCHOOLS FOR FREE.

With this campaign fundraiser WE PLEDGE TO raise enough funds to clean up as many schools as possible leading up to our World Toilet day event on 19 NOVEMBER 2018.

Thereafter we will proceed with PHASE TWO and THREE of our ECO MISSION where we hope to raise enough funds to be able to give away free waste degraders to schools on bi monthly basis .
