UPDATE - 1st July 2017, Brought Daisy P Urgently To ARVC as her breathing became laboured :(

Daisy P has been coping well till a recent second opinion revealed that the bladder had a chronic infection and the malignancy was actually in an abdominal and mammary tumour which a prompt lumpectomy and mastectomy took care of.

Yesterday, Daisy P stopped eating altogether. Her breathing became laboured too. Now at the vet, we discovered signs of renal insufficiencies. Her renal enzymes are very elevated. She is on i/v fluids and meds now. The vet wants to treat it as an acute renal condition hoping to assuage it in a few days.

Toady's Vet Bill : $670.14

Please help contribute to see dear Daisy P through.

If you would like to help us out, send us a personal message on facebook.

Please help us share this message. Thank you.

========================

Dear all,

Please help us help Daisy P!

Once again we are SINCERELY and URGENTLY appealing for contributions to help Daisy P's medical care.

If you have followed us for awhile, you may know of Daisy P, the mummy of our D team puppies.

You may read more about her and the D team puppies via these links below:

We noticed that there were 2 small lumps (1 of which was a little larger than the other) near Daisy P’s mammary glands. The larger of the 2 lumps started growing bigger so we brought her to the vet for a check up.

5th of June 2017 – We brought her to Barkway, the vet performed a blood count, 4DX and liver kidney profile tests. Her blood count and liver kidney results are normal and she tested negative for heartworm. A series of x-rays were also taken, with a few circular shadows noted on the lungs. The vet suggested surgery to remove the lumps to provide her with a better quality of life.

8th of June 2017 - With that we decided to bring Daisy P to another vet to seek a second opinion, we brought her to see Dr Ly at ARVC. We also hoped to find out if there is a chance the surgery to remove the lumps can be performed in a safer way, perhaps with a shorter GA as we were worried that the risk is high and she may not pull through the surgery given her health condition.

Upon examination, Dr Ly shared that the lump could have grown larger due to inflammation and infection as part of a neoplastic process. He also noted the other hard mammary lump. He did a bladder ultrasound, cystocentesis to collect urine sample for testing and x-rays (as the ones taken at the previous vet were not clear enough). Through the x-ray Dr Ly shared that the shadows were metastatic lung lesions and suspects mammary tumor.

Dr Ly plans for a masectomy and lumpectomy to remove the 2 small lumps. Due to Daisy P’s health condition, it will be done under LA and mild GA, keeping the surgery time to the minimal. The surgery has been set for today (9th of June 2017). Dr Ly also prescribed testosterone as well as shark cartilage.

Dr Ly has recommended for us to get these supplements, here is the breakdown of costs based on the amount needed monthly:

- Beta Glucan suppository: $228* for 36 pieces

- Shark Cartilage suppository: $388.44* for 36 pieces

*Average monthly Supplements : $616.44* *Average monthly Supplements : $616.44* (not yet include vet reviews)

Here are the vet bills incurred so far:

1st vet visit (5th of June 2017) – Barkway: $228.54

2nd vet visit (8th of June 2017) – ARVC: $590.37*

We seek your help yet again, this time for Daisy P. She is such a strong girl and just like for Louie, we will do all that we can to help her. Our funds are still very low after everything that has happened so far and we really need all the help that we can get.

We estimates Daisy P will need about $1,500 a month on her medical care.

We are hoping to raise a target amount of $4,500 to cover the expenses (supplements, vet visits etc.) for about 3 months (from now to August).

We will be updating on Daisy P’s progress as regularly as we can. Attached pictures of Daisy P's vet bills, x-ray and ultrasound and supplements receipts etc for reference.

We will also post updates on the funds received.

*Any excess contributions received will be use for our other rescue dogs expenses (eg. vet bills, food, etc).

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to everyone for your constant support.
