Thanks for your interest in our project. I have begun renovations on a spectacular 1870 Queen Anne Victorian in Old Town Petersburg, VA. I fell in love with the house because I, unlike others, could see the potential and the beauty in restoring this treasure as opposed to tearing it down. We began work in August, 2012. The home is wonderful, it has all of the original mantels, original wood floors, 10 foot ceilings and more. We managed to save most of the wood trim and rosettes. We also saved the original interior doors and the two front entry doors. The house is complete up to the drywall and 95% of the trim. All rough ins are ready to be completed. We have to refinish the floors and install the cabinets. As a single mom with a dream, I took on this huge project by myself. Everything came out of pocket. EVERYTHING...Now I need to raise the funds to complete the rough ins (this is already a set price of $6600), complete the drywall, insulate the ceiling and under the house and finish installing the trim. I have all of the materials, it's just a matter of taking care of the rest of the labor.
I plan to have this home ready for Garden Week next year. This is actually a great tour of all of the participating homes in Old Town. I would also like to have it ready for the Christmas Lights Tour this year. Thanks in advance for your help with this project. You will be donating to a great cause and helping keep a part of history alive!
