Today, Nov. 12, 2019 Tatay joined our creator due to cardiac arrest from COPD complications. He died in the hospital as we were not able to raise enough funds to settle his bills and take him home. Now, the hospital is willing to

Last September 18, Tatay had a check-up at Quirino Memorial Medical Center due to leg swelling. The doctor decided to confine him but due to a lack of equipment, he is transferred to a private hospital. The initial diagnosis is heart failure and he needed to be on BiPaP due to low oxygen levels. Later on, the doctor ruled that he is also suffering from tuberculosis.

He is the father of one of our volunteers, Stephanie Francisco. She helps us champion our animal welfare programs on top of taking care of Tatay. Her parents are long separated; Tatay raised her on his own. He is turning 65 this December. He is still working as an electrician and sidelines with construction jobs as well.

Stephanie already exhausted almost all her savings to settle Tatay's medical bills, now at 490 k. She sought help from various government agencies - DSWD, SSS, and PCSO. Yet, a large chunk of the bill remains unpaid. Tatay should be home already by Oct. 5 but the hospital won't discharge him because of his remaining balance.

We, Stephanie's co-volunteers created this fundraiser to help settle the remaining medical bill. Our parents, at some point in their lives, will succumb to sickness and old age. We want to make the remaining years of their lives rewarding and comfortable, more so when we are left with one parent. We cling on that hope of providing them access to the best medical treatments available because they deserve nothing less. There is nothing more heartbreaking than the incapacity to afford the hospitalization of a father who still attempted to give his daughter the world, even if he has to do it alone.

From the bottom of our hearts, we ask that you share this link with family and friends and if possible in giving. Please don't think that any amount is small, we know that there are enough people who will help us achieve our goal.
