I've been a strong person all my life so far & prided myself on being very independent. I swore to myself growing up I would never allow myself to ever be in a domestic violence situation. I figured I had all the knowlege I needed to see the signs. Well, I guess I didn't know enough, ha?? It's a very tricky situation that can hook you without your knowledge that it's even happening. The worst part about it is, how it actually teaches you to doubt your self, your logical & emotional feelings about what's going on & it eventually gets you to the stage of thinking you're losing your mind. At least for me, it was a constant fight in my mind of what I knew was right, with what I was being mentally taught was just a silly emotion that is only "a women thing".

I've always helped others whenever I could, even if I had to do without for a short time, because the thrill of seeing how grateful someone was for just the smallest amount of help kept me grounded. Whenever I had a tough situation in life to deal with, I've always told myself how grateful I am because I knew there were many other people in the world that were dealing with circumstances much worse.

So in closing, I want to again say "thanx ever so much" to the people who have donated!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

OMGosh!!! to a fellow survivor who’s an Angel. Thanx, thanx, & super thanx for your extremely genorous donation. It’s very energizing to hear you’re now on a successful path. It gives me a lot of hope that things will get better. When I was able to leave, I wasn’t financially ready at all but it was the only opportumity I had to get out. Good luck to you in your move tomorrow & I hope you find true happiness because you deserve it !!!!

Just over a year ago I got out of an abusive relationship as well. As a matter of fact, we were evicted from the place I lived in with my ex (I had no idea he hadn’t been making the payments until the day after the 24 hour notice was posted). I was very lucky that I was able to move in with my parents in the meantime and I actually move on my own TOMORROW (ironically)!!! I would never wish these kinds of relationships on anybody, and am so proud of you for getting out of it. I truly hope that you can get the funding and never have to return to that. From one woman who’s been through something similar.
