I now appeal to all people of good will. My dear father needs your help. His life is in your hands. The choice is up to you. You can either give him life or let him die. Here's my story.

My name is Ivan Smirnov, and I'm 23. My surname means 'meek' in English. 'Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth'. I'm the youngest of Aleksandr Smirnov's two children, who is 53 years old. My older sister is already married and has two charming little daughters, my nieces. But they have never seen their grandpa. Why? Because our family lives in the eastern Ukraine, right there, where now it is a war. But my sister doesn't live with us, she lives abroad, in Russia, and won't be able to come to us soon. And my father makes another war. His foe is a severe illness. Cancer. He began to feel bad a couple of years ago. An operation and chemotherapy were ahead. It seemed it was all over. But the cancer had metastasised. Now he needs several high-priced chemotherapy courses and expensive surgical operations, which our family is unable to pay. My grandparents, my father's dad and mum, had a country house, which they were forced to sell in order to pay for their son's treatment. Our whole family got in debt, and nobody can help us. Nobody but you. People who I don't know yet, but I belive and hope and pray that you are and you will help. We need $150,000. This sum of money is truly tremendous for Ukraine in general and for our family in particular, but it can save the life of one person, who is very dear to me, and cover all the debts of our family, which is now in deep poverty and and barely makes ends meet. Doesn't a human life cost much more? Otherwise we can lose our flat, and then our family will beg for a living with an outstretched hand. Then where will I bring my future wife and where will we raise our children? We have only four months before the treatment starts. Donate only a dollar, and God already will bless you for this good deed. My dad is afraid of death and doesn't want to die so early. My granny, who is now 83, hasn't seen her great-granddaughters either, and if her son dies, she won't survive.
