Dear everyone!

Some of you might already know about the current situation in Venezuela, if you are watching the news frequently, but if not, let me just quote the wikipedia page about the econimical crisis, human right violations, and such issues there:

"The crisis in Venezuela is the socioeconomic and political crisis that Venezuela has undergone since Hugo Chávez's tenure and which extended over the years into the current presidency of Nicolás Maduro. It is the worst economic crisis in Venezuela's history. During the year 2016, for example, consumer prices rose 800%, the economy contracted by 18.6%, and hunger escalated to the point that the "Venezuela's Living Conditions Survey" (ENCOVI) found nearly 75 percent of the population had lost an average of at least 8.7 kg (19.4 lb) in weight due to a lack of proper nutrition. The murder rate in 2015 was 90 per 100,000 people according to the Observatory of Venezuelan Violence (compared to 5 per 100,000 in the US).

The crisis has affected the average life of Venezuelans on various levels. The rise of unemployment resulted in the emergence of social movements aimed at both changing the economic and productive model, as well as questioning the political system and demanding a democratic renewal. Political corruption, scarcity of basic products, closure of companies, deterioration of productivity and competitiveness, and high dependence on oil are other problems that have also contributed to the worsening crisis."

In welfare states, most of the young people have opportunities for education, and for building their own future, according to their abilities. But if you are a venezuelan, your only hope for a better life is to get out of the country. But even as an immigrant in one of the neighbour countries, you have to work around 70 hours a week, to get a salary three-four times less as an average worker for exaple in the USA.

I know, there are so much people in the world, living in poverty and need, and we can't help them all. But I'm willing and determined to do anything to help Susana to make her dream come true, and help her to be able to enroll in an university abroad, and get a degree. She is an artist, she is very smart, talented, and speaks very good english.

Why I am the one who is fundraising, and not her? Because countries like Venezuela aren't supported by sites like this, unfortunately...
How comes that I care about this issues from such a far country as Hungary?
Well, first, I am currently an international relations student, so it's kind of my job to be up to date in topics like this. And second, well... Susana is one of the most important, closest friends of mine.

The amount especified is what we theorically need to reach this goal. Almost everything for the studies. Since the inflation rate in Venezuela is so high at the moment, that an average monthly salary of a venezuelan citizen is around 4USD, this is a huge amount of money for her.

However, even if it would be a blessing to reach this entire amount with your help, we're also working hard by ourselves to save up the money, so, we are very grateful for any help. Even small amount of money, suggestions and even advertising to this post would make a difference.

Thank you in advance! And please, feel free to contact us if you have any question.

Blessing and love,

Katalin and Susana

Update: Guys, Susana took the risk and moved to Colombia but she used all her savings for it, and currently she is looking for a job. We need you all more than ever. Currently she has no computer, and she cannot work (as an artist). For a start, around 200$ would be enough for at least buying a laptop, so she could make commissions. Thank you in advance! 🙏
