Campaign Story
When our daughter, Emma Grace Smith, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October 2012, there was one organisation that very quickly came to our aid, the Gaby Davis Foundation. They paid special attention to Emma, and provided a whole raft of items to help her through some very dark and troubling times.
The Gaby Davis Foundation was set-up to "help families affected by childhood cancer". The foundation is named in honour of Gabrielle Davis who sadly died on 1st March 2007. The spearheads of the foundation are Tanya and Guy Davis, parents of Gaby, along with the help of many others on the board. To date, the Foundation has helped over 80 families that have had to attend BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver.
The work required to fund raise for this organisation is never-ending. My family was fortunate to receive the benefit of all their hard work, and it was when I read this personal Facebook post by Tanya this evening I realised that may be we could do something for Tanya and Guy:
"My hubby's turning 50 this year. 10 years ago just a couple days before his 40th we learned our daughter was dying. His 40th birthday celebration was cancelled. We spent all our minutes with Gaby. She passed away 3 days later. His birthday has been difficult every single year since 2007. He doesn't want a party for his 50th. He doesn't want much but to just go away. We can't afford much right now but I've purchased some show tickets for the night and now I'm on the search for a hotel. I want him to feel special and spoiled. I want the hotel to be fancy and a 'wow'. We've never done this before and definitely never stayed in a fancy hotel, so any tips or tricks are welcome. Thank you friends!!"
We hope to raise a minimum of CDN$1,500 for Guy and Tanya to allow them to spoil each other for at least one night in Vancouver. They so deserve this little gesture, and we hope you agree!
Any raised funds not used by Tanya and Guy will be donated to the Gaby Davis Foundation.

I don't know this beautiful family personally but my baby girl said something in bed tonight about cancer and then I came on and saw this. I hope this couple has a relaxing night!
