Knysna and the surrounding area was hit by devestating fires!! That were exacerbated by the almighty stormwinds that hit the Cape last week!
So many animals are in need of help everyday in South Africa, regardless of the devestating fires.
So now more than ever they need your help!
"The Knysna Animal Welfare Society (KAWS) is a non-profit association solely working for the benefit of animals in need".
They have a great reputation of care and are well regarded localy, with a proven trustworthy track record working within townships and suburbia.
"KAWS relies on your generosity & all donations are greatly appreciated"
NPO number: 009-263
KAWS are working flat out to save all the fire affected animals, they have many animals that are lost and disorientation, and need to be reunited with their families that have lost their homes in the fires. It is utterly devestating.!!! 10 000 people have been affected and of course this impacts on the animals too.
There are many animals that are suffering from burns or smoke inhalation that need assistance. So there is a need for extra staff and veterinarians.
Also needed is extra feed for the animals and bedding. Temporary residence for the sudden influx of new arrivals too. While local businesses are helping out where they can, KAWS will need substantial donations to enable them to keep doing what they do best.

I am an expat South African living in Australia. I care deeply for my birth country, that is going through very difficult times right now. My father was brutally murdered in his home in Johannesburg 5 months ago.
I am making it my mission to not only help with awareness of South Africa's troubles, but to also aid and support South Africa in the memory of my peaceful and loving father; who also loved his dog "Nugget".
Being a professional Animal Keeper that worked at London Zoo, Adelaide Zoo and for DPIWE in Tasmania on the Tasmanian Devil Facial Tumour Project I thought this would be a great cause to focus on. I'm hoping that my fellow Animal Keepers aswell as other animal lovers around the world will get behind this and share it.
If you can't donate to them financially and live in the area, there are lots of things that they could have donated to them. Please look for the list in the pictures.
Dad this is in your memory ❤
RIP David Graham John
