Please Help! Samual Wilson is a beautiful, always smiling, selfless person, amazing friend, brother and partner and in his fight for his life we have set up this ‘Go Get Funding’ fundraiser account. We would like for anyone to please do what they can and please donate to help Sam and his new family in their time of need. Whatever anyone can manage is more than we could ever hope for. Thank you so much in advance! Here is Sams story... Most people when finding out they’re expecting their first child with the one person they have chosen to spend the rest of their life with experience something a lot of people look forward to their whole lives. And for Sam it was no different. 12 months ago Sam and his fiancée Kylie were blessed with the news that they were going to be having a beautiful baby boy. Experiencing a feeling that most would describe as being on top of the world. Not knowing at this point that less than 48 hours later that a lump Sam had previously found in his mouth was in fact Cancer! That is a 48 hour moment that has left a footprint in Sam and his family’s lives that will never leave them. Sam started his gruelling bout of Chemotherapy before having surgery to remove the lump from his mouth and having bone and a skin graft taken from his leg to replace part of the jaw that they had removed. This didn’t take. They performed 9 surgeries in total due to blood clots, hematomas and other complications, taking more skin and bone from his other leg and even having to perform a Pec flap surgery which involved feeding his pec muscle up through his neck and into his mouth to cover the part of jaw they removed before his body reacted positively to it and he could start to try and recover from this ordeal. Bearing in mind that due to all of this alone, means he will still need extensive reconstructive surgery to attempt to get Sam back to or as close to his original self. 6th October 2012 – A silver lining in Sams life. Baby Eli Wilson was born. A moment a father will never forget, watching his first born enter into this world. But instead of Sam visiting his partner Kylie and baby Eli in the hospital, it was the other way around. Laying in his hospital bed he was able to hold his son for the very first time. Sam then goes through another round of chemotherapy and it looks as if he has beaten Cancer but Sam has an aneurysm which they also discovered when Sam was diagnosed with Cancer, and it has now haemorrhaged which had to be clamped to perform surgery to which they discovered another aneurysm. Which now means Sam has to have very risky brain surgery. His family has been through something we all pray would never happen to our loved ones and hope that Sam being the fighter he is, is able to come through the other end. Sam is unable to work due to the continual hospital admissions, surgeries etc and his partner Kylie is looking after their son single handed. Please keep Sam in your hearts and prayers and help us by donating what you can and please leave a message of support for him! Thank you x
