Team Bakunawa is an amateur dragon boat team from a small fishing village in Iligan City Mindanao. Composed mainly of students, out of school youths and hard working employees from poor barangays, the team has consistently won both local and international dragon boat races. Even with very little resources and opportunities, our paddlers have shown tenacity, perseverance and love of the games, representing the strength and abilities of Mindanaoan athletes.
We are honored to be invited by the Korean Dragon Boat Association to participate in the Chongwan Dragon Boat Festival 2019 to be held in South Korea this coming April 5-8, 2019. We are taking a leap of faith and hoping to raise funds to be able to once again represent our beloved Mindanao and Philippines
