Please help save our dad’s life

Dear Everyone,

We are humbly and sincerely knocking on your good hearts to help us raise funds for our dad’s medical needs and hospital bills.

Our dad, Jojit Espiritu (48), was taken to the ER at the crack of dawn last 22nd of May after experiencing extreme headaches. His CT scan results showed that there’s blood clotting and water in his head which had to be drained as immediately as possible. His doctors said that it was either a stroke or a brain tumor. He needed to have an MRI to get a clearer view and to know what the exact cause is. Unfortunately, the nearest hospital we brought him to did not have an MRI machine. We had to coordinate with another hospital that has an MRI to have him checked but could only get a slot the next day. My dad was placed in the ICU that day however, that night, he had to be intubated and placed on a ventilator which was why the other hospital refused to accept our dad for an MRI.

There is then the urgent concern of water build up inside our dad’s head which had to be addressed immediately as the longer the water stays in his head, the higher chance of him falling into a coma so we quickly arranged for a procedure (Ventriculostomy) to drain out the water. The procedure alone costed us PHP 230,000 this is besides the ICU and hospital charges that are still currently running at the time of writing which has now amassed to PHP 449,310.29

Our family has pooled in our money and savings to pay for the initial procedure. As of now, we are running low on funds as our bill continues to grow. We are doing our best to arrange and have our dad transferred to a public hospital soon while we wait to get a slot and room in their ICU as well as have my dad in a more stable condition to travel.

To anyone who knows our dad, Jojit, personally, you know that he’s a kind and warm person who loves to crack jokes and make the people around him laugh.

We understand that everyone is going through their own struggles at the moment so we are not asking for much. Any amount would go a long way and will be very much appreciated.
