Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your HEARTS and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
My younger sister Renamie Balidiong is a 29-year-old single mom of a 9-year-old boy. Since she got diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation in July 2017, quit her job, and now goes through the pain and depression, the financial burden has also been the most difficult challenge due to non-stop medications, regular check-ups, and maintaining responsibilities as a solo parent. It is hard to witness her strict daily routines and physical challenges unlike the very lively and very physically active girl she used to be back in the days.
Earlier this month, our family decided to now consider open heart surgery, which has been the ultimate recommendation of my sister's cardiologist since 2017. We are 3 siblings. We value family above all. We live under the same roof and we are bonded by love, faith, and hope.
We want our youngest sibling to live long, see her son grow and succeed in life, and for her to enjoy life to the fullest...
The financial burden at this point is a huge challenge. I only work a normal job to make ends meet, and so as my other sister and her husband who just got a baby girl this year.
We are now seeking ways to reach out to government agencies for any financial assistance, but things are really uncertain, financially, at this point.
My sister will be admitted to the Philippine Heart Center on October 27th this month, and the procedure will take place on the 29th. We are required to make a down-payment amounting to P350,000 by October 19th, and the estimate the doctor has provided for the entire procedure is between P800,000 to P1.2 million pesos. Mind-blowing for our family. Never in our wildest imagination to be spending such a huge amount, let alone having no source for such.
Our father passed away in 2016 due to liver cirrhosis. Only I, my sister, our mother, and a few relatives are the main support system of my sick sister. She is our top priority right now, and we are with her forever in facing and overcoming this challenge everyday.
So in God's grace, I am hoping to receive some help from here. My family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Your prayers will matter most too.
To God, be the glory.
