Please help our Tatay Rolando

Rolando Medina, also fondly known as "Jun" by his loved ones and friends is a father of 5, currently living with his children in the Philippines.

Last May 6, Jun was rushed to the hospital as he coughed up blood which made him very weak. After a sleu of lab tests and check-ups, the formidable news broke our hearts. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

As a devoted and hands-on father, Jun raised 5 wonderful children, 2 of them now graduates of HRM and Computer Engineering. His measley income from a humble yet decent job of driving a tricycle for hire has amazingly provided for the schooling and welfare of his kids. And his consistent presence and guidance in their lives made all his children grow with compassion and respect for others.

As they were trying to start anew in a more decent home, the pandemic happened and struck his family to the core. Because of the lockdown, Jun wasn't able to continue earning using his tricycle. Everybody had to stay safe at home which meant no riders and no income for Jun.

This challenge became a burden after the diagnosis. Medical bills shoot up, savings were depleted and hope was getting slimmer.

The family and relatives turned the adversity to an advantage and raised funds through pledges and fund raising shirts. Sadly the raised amount was not enough to cover the bill which was now high up their necks.

We continue to find ways to cover the expenses through government assistance and other foundations but we are given too short a time to come up with the still huge hospital bills and fees.

With this, our strong faith in God and our deep faith in humanity, we are humbly requesting for your kind heart to pledge any amount that will help us pay the bills in full and relieve the stress from Jun's family giving them more time to prepare for his treatments and medications.

Any amount or help will go a long way. We hope and pray that you can help us fight this battle for Jun and his children. And we are sincerely grateful for even getting this far in reading our story. God bless and stay safe.
