Please help our dad’s medical needs

On December 5, 2018, our dad Gerardo Isip, was admitted at Westlake Medical Hospital, in San Pedro, Laguna, when he complained that his body felt unusually weak and he lost his appetite, also, his jaundice worsened. At Westlake, he had his CTscan and chest xray, and his doctor there found out that there is something blocking his common bile duct which is the main cause of his worsening Jaundice. His doctor adviced our dad for ERCP and since the said procedure is not available in Westlake, we had to tranfer our dad to a different hospital that has such procedure.

We were able to transfer him to Qualimed Hospital in Sta Rosa, Laguna, on Dec 7, 2018. And he was immediately adviced for operation when we found out that the blockage on his common bile duct is a tumor.

Aside from surgeon, he also had to be cleared by endocrinologist and pulmonologist because he has diabetes, hypertension, and suspected tubrculosis. After a week of test he was fortunately cleared, with moderate risk, by his doctors.

On Dec 17, 2018 he finally had his major major operation which is the whipple procedure. The operation ran for 11 hours and we are thankful that it was successful.

He is currently in ICU for recovery and blood transfusion.

His working diagnosis is Distal Common Bile Duct Tumor t/c malignancy.

We really need help; dad has already maxed-out his hmo and we cannot use his philhealth because according to them, they have a new policy for sea-based ofw where the seafarer has to continue with his philhealth contributions even after his contract is done. And we cannot make him our dependent because a parent can only be one if they are PWD. We thought it was unfair because even the company, where our dad is working, is not aware of the new policy.

Growing up, our dad was our main provider. And we will do our best to help him recover. Despite what happened the past few years, he's still our father and we love him.
